Great Films Seen Recently

Baraka: This film is truly beautiful and poignant, especially after viewing this on Blu Ray. You see that label on the top of the case? It says 8K which basically means the resolution you are viewing the film in is 8192 x 3420 pixels. That's almost 9 times higher than Hi-Def 1080p!!!

Anyway, the film was shot all over the world with a simple yet very moving message of embracing spirituality and becoming in tune with nature. What might seem odd at first is that this is a non-verbal, non-narrative film. It is truly quite the experience. Along with the beautiful music, this is a gem.

Moon: I've heard many good things about this film and finally got around to seeing it. If you are a fan of science fiction, this is a must see. Not only because of the subject material but because of the interesting plot, acting, music, writing, and directing.

Sam Rockwell is truly convincing in the main role and remains interesting throughout the film. The plot was perfect but I don't want to divulge anything as it would take away from the experience. The writing was thought out and believable. Every shot was subtle and effective along with a perfect robot voice coming from Kevin Spacey. The director(Duncan Jones) is someone to watch out for.

This film was really robbed as it wasn't even nominated. Hollywood likes to ostracize films that are out of the norm. If you haven't seen this film, make it a priority.
