"Oldboy" & "I Saw the Devil" -- Reviewed.

South Korean films are extremely violent, groundbreaking and brilliantly executed. This is at least my judgment after seeing two of their films.

"Oldboy"
This is one of the best films I've seen this year! Yeah, it hasn't come out this year but damnit this was just flipping fantastic. Vengeance is the name of the game as our protagonist is locked in a prison for 15 years and goes on a vengeance spree for 6 days. The human condition is explored through the propulsion of vengeance. Truly remarkable and unique. This is actually part of a Vengeance Trilogy by master director Park Chan-wook. Hollywood is already scrambling to produce an American remake with director Spike Lee and starring Josh Brolin and Christian Bale.
Overall Grade: A+

"I Saw the Devil"
Brutal story in which the depths of one man's vengeance is questioned outright as he starts to become the monster he outright despises. Great acting, action and yet another excellent examination into morality.
Overall Grade: A

Don't discard these films because they are foreign. I beg you.
