"Django Unchained"

Ever since Quentin Tarantino announced his latest project entitled, "Django Unchained" there has been much buzz surrounding the cast. The film is loosely based on the two spaghetti westerns, "Django" and "Django 2: Il grande ritorno". The first Django film was released in 1966 and the sequel in 1987 and both are considered some of the most violent films at the time. Both times Django was played by Franco Nero.

Just confirmed today has Jamie Foxx starring as Django. Some may not see Foxx as the perfect fit but he has always proved himself time and time again. The guy has range. Though it was going to go to Idris Elba, Will Smith, Terrance Howard or Chris Tucker, Foxx is probably my 2nd favorite of the five optioned with Elba being the first. Tarantino's twist on the films puts the premise in the South and Django playing a freed slave out to free his wife from the ruthless plantation owner, Calvin Candie, who is rumored to be played by Leonardo DiCaprio.

The rest of the rumored cast is:

Kerry Washington - Django's wife
Samuel L. Jackson - Calvin Candie's slave who does his bidding
Christopher Waltz - Django's mentor

All in all a great cast. Honestly, I cannot wait for DiCaprio to astonish us by playing a villain this time around. It's been awhile since we've had a Tarantino directed film. Can't wait!! For the full detailed story click here.
